Analysing A Song About Peace

Rhythm, Rap & Rhyme.

This term for inquiry our main topic is Rhythm, Rap & Rhyme. It is all about pronunciation, music, lyrics, oral language and peace.

Prefix Hunt.

I am learning to develop my vocabulary knowledge of words that have the same prefix. For this task I have chosen a prefix of my own choice, found words that begin my prefix and also made sentences using the new prefix word I have discovered.

My Tongan Language Week Presentation

If you didn't know already it's this week is Tongan Language Week. 

In class we all took the time to learn a bit about the Tongan culture and language. Here is a presentation on Tongan a few things I have learnt.

Paper Inquiry Reasearch Projects.

For the past few weeks of this term, we have been learning about our given topics. My group was  given the topic 'paper' we gave interesting facts about how we could recycle paper effectively to assist our environment in becoming a better and child friendly area for the future generation following. Waste Management Plan

Today we buddied up with other students in our class and created a presentation about what we think is the most sustainable way to reduce the rubbish we make at school, but also ways we could save and decrease the amount of money we spend each year just to get rid of our rubbish.

Being Cyber Smart

Cybersmart as we all know is being smart and responsible online not everything on the internet is real. Our teachers taught us all about cybersmart we gathered enough information to create a cybersmart brochure.

Rubbish In Our School

In our school our topic for inquiry is now based around rubbish, our class has done a small experiment by picking up rubbish around the school and using this presentation to explain to others what rubbish is like in our school.

Soda Pop Experiment

TThis is another experiment myslef and my class did. In this experiment we were learning about 'Gas'.  We wondered what and how the salt or baking soda affected the gas inside. We used a balloon to trap the gas but that resulted in it expanding.We shared our hypothesis and began the story.

Three States Of Matter

Netbook Reflection 2013

This year I have just completed my 2nd year with a netbook. This is my 2012 reflection.

The positives I experienced this year include the interacting with peers in our classroom. We get the chance to post new things on our blog that we share with people all around the world but also, responding to the work our friends have done too. This year we got to Learn, Create and Share. We all got to achieve most of our goals and

Some negatives that occurred this year was the slow internet connection.There have been sometimes where there were easy access to games and some unnecessary websites during learning which I think is where we need to take responsibility for our learning and use of netbooks.

This year I’ve learnt a lot more about my netbook such as doing my work on different google docs applications such as spreadsheet, Creating a various amount of graphs( leaf and steam, pie, column, bar, line.), presentation documents and google template. Now I wonder if next year we as Manaiakalani netbook students at Tamaki Primary will we be able to take our netbooks home next year?

It has been another year I have spent at school with my netbook and can I just say I really enjoy using it.
